The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) was relocated from Kelly Air Force Base to Fort Sam Houston, where numerous renovations and additions took place to accommodate the DRMO operations.
The new facilities consist of a building for the administrative personnel of the DRMO, a new building for the recovery of precious metals, an office for the operator of the vehicular scale, an office for the open storage yard personnel, a standalone covered storage facility, and a covered storage annex to existing Warehouse 4195. An existing 236,000 square foot warehouse was renovated to accommodate the storage of a variety of material and equipment, and included an automated conveyor. New loading docks were also desired.
