Carver Center Assessment

This assessment provided architectural and engineering services for an investigation of water and moisture problems at the Carver Cultural Center auditorium.  The scope involved determining the possible sources of water and moisture infiltration causing the failure of interior finish systems and cracking of walls, the reasons for high humidity and occupant discomfort, and the cause of the cracking of walls and door misalignments in office spaces.  An analysis and opinion of probable construction cost were generated for identified repair recommendations.

Our team's assessment has led to partial renovations to address the water and moisture problems in the auditorium, including roofing repairs, installation of water repellant on masonry and stone walls, plaster repairs, and other interior repairs.  This project is ongoing, and scheduled for completion at the end of 2011.
