Uvalde High School Additions & Renovations

2000     Uvalde Independent School District

The scope of this project includes a 42,900 square foot competition gymnasium facility and a 29,000 square foot auditorium with 1,500 fixed seats.  The gymnasium has two full basketball courts: a competition court and a practice court.  Both are equipped with 1,000 fixed seats on one side and 500 telescoping seats on the other.  The gymnasium also has shower and dressing facilities, a weight room, three classrooms, training room, lobby, and restroom facilities.  The auditorium has a fully equipped stage and proscenium.  The facility provides space for a choir and drama room, as well as a lobby, concessions, and restrooms.

Existing science classrooms were retrofitted with new ventilation and casework.  Existing restrooms were renovated to meet accessibility requirements, and a new 3,240 square foot Special Education classroom was constructed.
