Uvalde Junior High Addition & Renovations

2003     Uvalde Independent School District

The additions to Uvalde Junior High School include a new Science Building and Physical Education facility.  Eight 1,100 square foot science classrooms and three 750 square foot classrooms were added to the campus, in addition to restrooms, storage, and canopy walkways connecting the Science addition to existing classroom wings.  The new Physical Education facility adds a new gymnasium, located as close to the existing gymnasium as possible to allow for close circulation between the two.  This proximity provides visual access and a comfortable distance from the classrooms for noise control.  The renovation portion of the program primarily consists of new ceilings, floors, and painting of the existing classrooms, administration, library, cafeteria, band hall, teachers lounge, nurse station, and physical education facilities.
